Our Mission

“The specific and primary purposes of this corporation are to provide to the general public the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the art and culture produced in the communities in which this corporation is active, through public meetings and art exhibitions, in a charitable manner and not for profit.”

The Sawdust Art Festival is non-juried, so it plays a vital role in supporting the careers of many local artists. With two main events annually – Sawdust Art Festival summer festival (June to August), and Winter Fantasy (November to December), the organization is designed to both educate and entertain.

All forms of fine art and craft are featured at the Sawdust Art Festival!

For nine weeks during the summer, Sawdust Art Festival draws more than 200,000 visitors. Guests are invited to shop along sawdust-covered paths in a hand-built village of fine art and eclectic craftsmanship. All summer artists are Laguna Beach residents however Winter Fantasy features non-locals. The Sawdust Festival grounds are transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of lights and decorations for five weekends in November and December, showcasing work by 180 international artists.
