One Peace

Believe it or not, this photo was taken only 9 years ago. It was shot for a vintage fashion story titled Birth Of The Cool (with a nod to Miles Davis’ 1957 album of the same name) which Gabe Sullivan wrote and photographed for Men’s File Magazine. As you can see by the period correct Hobie balsa wood D-fin board, 1948 Dodge Woodie Wagon and classy vintage Jantzen one piece swimsuit, the shoot was heavily inspired by the burgeoning Southern California surf scene of the late 50s/early 60s.

Rust Bucket

Sure, if you don’t already own vintage Volkswagen, you could go buy an old VW Bus like Gabe Sullivan’s and hit the road in style with your squad—that is, unless you’re stuck somewhere on the side of the road trying to fix yet another broken or malfunctioning part. And take it from Gabe, a bonafide VW Bus lifer for over 30 years now, there always seems to be something that needs fixing. Or, you could treat yourself to this limited edition print and still enjoy the charm of having a rust bucket VW Bus in your life, but with none of the headaches.
