Artist Statement
Inspired by the beauty of the ever-changing sky over the ocean here in Laguna Beach, Donna Ballard has created an on-going series of oil paintings for her “Room With A View” series, painting what she sees from her own windows. This has created a diverse collection that includes picturesque sunsets over Catalina Island, stormy skies, beautiful cloud formations and more. The ocean vista provides an endless variety of possibilities to paint.
The Sawdust Festival has also allowed Donna to express her love for Christmas. She has created unique painted and jeweled wooden Christmas tree ornaments and tabletop trees that add sparkle and shine to any Christmas display.
Artist Bio
A longtime resident and practicing Architect in Laguna Beach, Donna Ballard has always loved all things art. To enhance her skills, she received a post-baccalaureate degree in Fine Art Painting from Laguna College of Art + Design in Laguna Beach. She has been an exhibitor at the Sawdust Art Festival since 2019, enjoying the opportunity to showcase her work and be a part of the unique artist community in Laguna Beach.
