Artist Statement
My creative inspirations originate from the beauty of the wilderness. From the ocean to the mountains, nature’s “cast alway” becomes my work of art. I apply the architectural logic of the relationship between form, materials and colors to create my unique driftwood sculptures.
Artist Bio
Linnea (Anderson) Brooks is an Imaginative Artist from Laguna Beach, California. Growing up in Laguna Beach, Linnea was exposed to many art forms. She attended local Laguna Beach public schools as well as Saddleback Community College.
At the age of 18 Linnea was hired as an architectural draftsperson and worked continuously in the building industry for over 35 years. She won numerous awards for her excellence in building design.
In her mid-20’s, with a desire to “spread her wings”, Linnea moved to Oahu, Hawaii and lived the next 30 years on the Island. She appreciates the natural beauty and culture of Hawaii. With a longing to get back to her roots, Linnea moved back to Laguna Beach. She enjoys driving up the California Coast and to the local mountains to collect natural materials to use in her unique creations.
