Lovisa Kjerrgren

There is a poetry inherent in the landscapes around us. We can feel its verse in the wind; see it in the changing light and in the textures that shift along the hillside. In my creative practice, I paraphrase it in a language of color and line. Landscape poetry is both the inspiration and the ambition of my art.

From the quiet lakes and deep forests of my native Sweden to the foamy shores and prickly deserts of the place I now call home, the richness of nature is an endless source of awe and inspiration. At all scales from grand open vistas to the tiniest fragments, I am inspired to explore and depict it in expressions that range from naturalistic representations to graphic illustrations and playful abstractions.
