Learn how to paint an impressionistic morning in Laguna Canyon, with John Eagle. From a quick initial sketch on a ‘post-it’ note, John will take you through the process of transferring your sketch onto canvas, breaking down the process with a simple, step-by-step technique.
Materials and tools are not provided. Please have access to the following in order to complete this class:
Oil paint colors in Ultramarine Blue, Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, Olive Green, Payne’s Gray, Brilliant White. Please don’t feel you have to buy expensive paints/brushes – if you are just starting out in oil painting, student quality will be perfectly adequate.
Paint brushes (ideally hog hair in various sizes – 0,4,8,12), odorless turpentine (Gamsol), rags and a 12″ x 16″ canvas (or similar size)

Meet the Teacher
John Eagle was born in Ashtabula, Ohio. He grew up in Hawaii and San Francisco Bay area. His artistic career began in San Jose, California where he completed his undergraduate degree at San Jose State University. Post graduate studies include Otis Institute LA and Laguna College of Art and Design.
