Joie is a traditional and impressionistic painter, who works in many media, from large wall hangings to miniatures of figure studies, portraits, still life and koi.

She is a a native Californian, currently residing in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, returning to Laguna Beach in the summer to participate in the Sawdust Art Festival where she has been a member since 1968 and an exhibitor since 1970. Her paintings are cherished in many local and international collections.

Joie received her formal education at University of New Mexico, Long Beach Community, and Orange Coast Colleges.
