Chris Prelitz Book Signing & Lectures
Book Signing 12 noon – 5 pm

Lectures 1:30 pm & 3:30 pm
Sawdust Sustainability Consultant, Chris Prelitz, will present two lectures at 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm, “Save Gr$$n by Going Green,” and conduct a book-signing from noon to 5 pm on the Main Entertainment Deck. All ages welcome.

Prelitz is an author, professional speaker and pioneer of the modern green movement with over 25 years of hands-on green design and construction experience, from an off-grid solar community in Taos, New Mexico, to the first US solar powered, LEED certified auto dealership in the US for Mercedes Benz, and the first permitted solar powered home in Southern California.

A deep green retrofit Prelitz accomplished was featured by the Discovery Channel on the premier episode of the Greenovate Show. Prelitz turned a 1970’s energy hog house into a net-zero all solar dream home. Hay House publishes his new book Green Made Easy, and you can hear Prelitz live every Tuesday morning on Hay House radio.

At his own home in Laguna Beach, Prelitz typically receives a credit from his power company instead of a bill. His company New Leaf America provides products and services to help homeowners and renters lower their utility bills with simple affordable solutions. Prelitz will share with visitors simple ways to incorporate green living into everyday life.

This beautiful collaborative piece will be on display at the Sawdust Studio during the remainder of the summer show. The Wyland Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1993 by environmental marine life artist Wyland, dedicated to promoting, protecting, and preserving the world’s oceans, waterways, and marine life. The club also supports environmental projects and civic beautification. Exchange location: near front entrance of festival. All ages welcome.
Bob Wade with
“Water in the Gardens”

12 noon – 5 pm
Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor, Water Manager and Landscape Professional, Bob Wade will display and educate on the following topics related to water conservation:
  • Satellite Irrigation Controllers – These irrigation controllers are adjusted by satellite downloads and adjust themselves automatically.
  • Rotary Sprinklers – An adaptation of an agricultural irrigation head, they are the best way to water medium to large areas and have been proven to save water.
  • Precision Spray Nozzles – These spray nozzles fit on existing sprinkler heads.   The spray pattern is regulated by the same technology as automobile windshield wipers; a tremendous improvement over typical sprinkler heads.

Wade is also an EPA Water Sense Partner and has served on the Landscape Committee for the California Energy Commission, the Board of Directors for the California Landscape Contractors Association, the panel for the California State Assembly Select Committee on the Water Crisis, among other nationally recognized organizations. Project location: near Main Entertainment Deck. All ages welcome.
