BEATLES DAY
Saturday, August 15 (10 am – 10 pm)
The Sawdust Art Festival presents its first ever Beatles Day Saturday, August 15, 2009 from 10 am to 10 pm.
Beatles classics will be covered on all three entertainment stages throughout the day and 60’s era art and craft projects will be featured at the Children’s Art Spot, Sawdust Studio and Sawdust clock tower.
Highlights of Beatles Day include the following:
Flower Power Magnets
with Rosanne Nitti 10:30 am – 12:30 pm Create magnets with fun Beatles images and other 60’s icons. Ages 4+ at the Children’s Art Spot.
Monochromatic Painting
with Tovonaina Andriamampionona 10:30 am – 3 pm Travel back in time to create a 60’s art piece using magazine pieces and single color exploration. Ages 6+ at the Sawdust Studio.
Sue Bredice & Chris Whynaught
11:30 am – 4 pm
Beatles cover songs included in set list. Rock music at the Tavern Stage.
Dave & Sue Cross
11:30 am – 4 pm
Beatles cover songs included in set list. Folk/jazz music at the Greek Island Grille Stage.
Paper Flowers
with Lupe Blanton 12 noon – 1 pm

Using colorful crepe paper, learn Lupe’s traditional method of paper flower making. Ages 5+ at the clock tower.
Jason Feddy Band
12 noon – 4:30 pm
Beatles songs. Rock music on the Main Entertainment Deck.
Rock Painting
1 pm – 2:30 pm
Be creative and use nature’s resources to create your own piece of 60’s artwork. Ages 4+ at the Children’s Art Spot.
Friendship Bracelets
with Penny Steris 3 pm – 4 pm Use a multitude of colored yarn to personalize your friendship braided bracelet. Ages 4+ at the Children’s Art Spot.

Expressive Gesture
with Tovosam
3:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Learn how to speed draw live figures in action in this dynamic and fun class. Great for cartoonists, great study of the human form. Ages 8+ at the Sawdust Studio.
Finger Knitting
with Mary Keating 4 pm – 5:30 pm Learn the relaxing art of finger knitting to create scarves, belts and headbands. Ages 4+ at the Children’s Art Spot.
Robert Van Gorder & Friends
5 pm – 9:30 pm
Beatles cover songs included in set list. Light folk rock at the Tavern Stage.
Carolyn Miller
5 pm – 9:30 pm
Beatles cover songs included in set list. Soft rock music at the Greek Island Grille Stage.
The Neat 5:30 pm – 9:45 pm Beatles songs. Rock music on the Main Entertainment Deck.
