Blood Drive with
Saddleback Memorial Medical –
Friday, August 28 from 12 noon until 6 pm

Walkabout Wednesdays – complimentary self-guided “art demo” tours every Wednesday from 10 am to 6 pm
Residents Night – free admission for Laguna Beach residents every Thursday evening (after 5 pm) and the first Friday of each month (all day) with ID.
Summer show runs now through August 30.
Open daily from 10 am – 10 pm.

FINAL WEEK at the SAWDUST!
Closing day is Sunday, August 30, 10 am – 10 pm

Don’t miss the last week of the 2009 summer season at the Sawdust Art Festival!

Highlights of final week events, art activities, and entertainment include:

“Preschool Fun” with Karen Talbot
Wednesday, August 26, 10 am –   6 pm
Come join Sawdust artist and watercolorist Karen Talbot in the Children’s Art Spot in a creative arts project. Ages: preschool. No class fee.
“Get Wired” with James Koch
Thursday, August 27, 1 pm – 3 pm
Learn how to create wire sculptures from inspiring Found Object Sculptor, James Koch, at the Sawdust Studio. Ages: 6+. $2 class fee.


Blood Drive
with Saddleback Memorial Medical Center
Friday, August 28, noon – 6 pm
Requirements for donors include the following:

  • be in good health
  • be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental consent)
  • weigh a minimum of 110 lbs.
  • no tattoos within the last 12 months
  • bring a valid photo ID

“Make a Bead Bracelet” with Catherine Reade

Friday, August 28, 7 pm – 9 pm
Learn the craft of knotting a bead bracelet with Sawdust Jeweler, Catherine Reade, in the Sawdust Studio. Ages: 10+. $5 class fee.

Juke Box Scandal – Rock
Friday, August 28, 5:30 pm – 9:45 pm
Check out rock group, Juke Box Scandal, on the Main Entertainment Deck.

“The Language of Landscape Painting”
with Amy Jackson

Saturday, August 29, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Create an acrylic landscape painting with Sawdust Painter, Amy Jackson, in the Sawdust Studio. Ages: 6+. $5 class fee.

Sasha Evans – Blues/Jazz/A’cappella
Saturday, August 29, 12 noon – 4:30 pm
Check out new and exciting blues, jazz and a’cappella singer songwriter, Sasha Evans, with her talented band on the Main Entertainment Deck.

The Missiles of October – Rock ‘n Roll
Saturday, August 29, 5:30 pm – 9:45 pm
Favorite local band, the Missiles of October, will close out the last 2009 “Dance Night Saturday Night” on the Main Entertainment Deck.

World Anthem – Reggae
Sunday, August 30, 5:30 pm – 9:45 pm
Marking the end of the 2009 summer season, energetic reggae band, World Anthem, will groove on the Main Entertainment Deck until the last hour of the festival show this year.

Ceramic Center
Daily until Sunday, August 30, 10 am – 6 pm
Come and try your hand at the potter’s wheel. Sawdust staff will assist, but you are the true creator of your very own clay pot. Free as greenware to take home. $15 fee to fire and ship to your home.
