Class Description
Join us for a hands-on and creative workshop where you'll learn the art of creating beautiful fused glass flowers using frit slurry. A 'frit slurry' is a mixture of powder, glass frit (ground glass), and water. This engaging class is perfect for beginners and experienced glass artists alike, offering a unique opportunity to explore the dynamic possibilities of glass fusing. Your final piece will be 8" in diameter.
What You’ll Learn:
- Introduction to Frit Slurry: Discover what frit is, how to mix it with binders, and how to create a slurry that is perfect for blending colors and making a beautiful flower!
- Design Techniques: Learn how to design and plan your flower, including choosing colors and layering techniques to create depth and dimension.
- Shaping and Building: Explore how to use techniques to shape and build your flowers.
- Hands-On Practice: Work directly with frit slurry and glass components to create your own custom flower design.
The firing of your pieces will be done offsite and will be available for pickup at the artist's studio in Laguna Beach, or mailed to you by USPS priority mail at a small extra cost depending on the size of the piece.
Price
$190.00 per student which is fully inclusive of all materials and firing costs. The copper stem will have an additional charge based on desired length.
