The next chapter in our 2013 Sawdust Artist Video Series features Laguna Beach Plein Air oil painter, Walter Viszolay. A Sawdust exhibitor for more than 25 years, Viszolay is best known for his iconic Laguna Beach land and seascapes.

As a Plein Air painter, Viszolay can often be found perched on a cliff above the waves, on the boardwalk of Main Beach, or elsewhere around Laguna Beach drawing inspiration from the backdrop of his hometown. When he’s not painting on location, Viszolay can be found finishing his paintings in his famous studio perched on the Cliffs in Laguna Beach or at the Sawdust Art Festival during summer season.

A waterman at heart, Viszolay says it’s “the water, the ocean, the movement of the waves” that continue to inspire his artwork. Don’t miss him sharing his process, inspiration, and a behind-the-scenes view of his studio in this special segment.
