The Sawdust Art Festival celebrates its 47th annual season this summer, opening its doors to the public Friday, June 28 with a traditional ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 am. Sawdust President Gavin Heath will make the Opening Day announcement and Laguna Beach City Council Member Steve Dicterow will officially cut the ribbon, kicking off the 2013 summer season. The festival will open daily from 10am-10pm through Sunday, September 1.

201 Laguna Beach artists, 18 new artists, excitedly anticipate a new summer season in hopes of drawing an even greater crowd than last year to expose their unique handmade artwork and interact with new festival visitors and friends. The diverse range of artwork featured at the Sawdust comprises all art mediums, including ceramics, glass, woodwork, jewelry, sculpture, painting, photography, textiles, clothing, furniture, mixed media and much more.
Exciting new entertainment scheduled this year include:
• Brother Yusef – Jazzy blues with a lot of heart and soul
• Alturas – South American high energy music rich with Inca and Aymara Cultures
• Amanda Castro Band – young jazz singer playing vintage 1920’s and 1930’s music with a twist of New Orleans and Latin jazz
• Moonshine – Laguna Beach locals perform classic 1950’s rockabilly

• Country Western Day – Saturday, August 3
• Artists’ Benevolence Fund Auction – Sunday, August 11 from 2-5 pm

• Tropical Tuesdays – every Tuesday
• Residents Nights – Laguna Beach residents are admitted free after 5 pm with ID on Thursday evenings; other local cities will also be featured for free admission after 5 pm on various weekday evenings, cities listing available on our new website!
