Sawdust livens up Patriot’s Day Parade

Posted on March 10, 2015 by Sawdust Art Festival

Folks from the Sawdust Art Festival built a multi-level float and had a great time at the 49th Laguna Beach Patriot’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 7.

It was a beautiful morning as 93 entrants, including more than 50 floats, started at Laguna Beach High School and traversed the streets to City Hall. The Sawdust’s float resembled the exterior facade of the festival, perched atop General Manager Tom Klingenmeier’s white Chevy Silverado truck.

The Sawdust did not win a trophy, but board members, exhibitors and staff made their presence known with red, white and blue face paint, a Sawdust banner, signs representing various art media and more. For a list of winners, check out the Stu News Laguna list and slideshow.

We’d like to extend a big Sawdust “thank you” to the following board members, exhibitors and staff for making our 2015 Patriot’s Day Parade float a big success:

Gavin Heath
Rachel Goberman and baby Alice Kaufman
Jay Grant
Ryan and Kelly Gourley
