About Robert Jones

Robert was drawn into his work with clay thirty years ago and has been actively pursuing the ceramics spectrum ever since. Ceramics is a complex craft, requiring controlled physical and mental discipline, the magic of the fire, and dabbling in the crucible of nature. The artist is a native of Southern California, graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, and annual exhibitor, since 1991, at Laguna’s own Sawdust Art Festival. Robert’s raku work has been featured at the prestigious Montage and St. Regis Resorts and his raku, horse hair ceramics and ikebana vases are currently showcased at the Bowers Museum and Laguna Beach Art Museum. Robert has also exhibited his work in galleries and fine art festivals across California. When Robert is not behind his pottery wheel, he can be found with his family or enjoying the ocean, two of his other great passions in life.
