“THE DUST” FILMMAKERS HOST
A SILENT AUCTION SOIRÈE FUNDRAISER
(THE DUST silent auction will take place Friday, September 17 at 8 pm)
Laguna Beach, CA – On Friday, September 17 at 8 pm near the Sawdust Art Festival grounds, THE DUST filmmakers, Kailee McGee and Rich Costales, will host a fundraising soirée that includes a silent auction to help fund the completion of their film, THE DUST. The silent auction will consist of donated goods from Sawdust Art Festvail artists and local businesses, items ranging from original artwork, jewelry, gift certificates to spas, restaurants, coffee houses, and more. McGee and Costales also plan on premiering THE DUST trailer promptly at 9:30 pm. Live music, hors d’oeuvres and wine will be available at the event; food courtesy of Mark’s Restaurant and music performed by locals Sasha Evans and Douglas Miller and provided by helpbluewater.com.
The purpose of the event is to not only celebrate the progress of the feature documentary, which takes an intimate look inside the Sawdust Art Festival’s 44th season, but to also raise funds to help complete the film. “So far the project has been 95% personally funded by the directors. Unfortunately, we haven’t received as many monetary donations as expected. Principal photography will end September 15th, 2010. Post-production will begin September 22nd, 2010, and we estimate that it will take us two months to edit the film,” said McGee. The film will be screened locally in Laguna Beach and then submitted to film festivals nationwide. For more info about the film please visit: http://www.thedustfilm.info.
The event will take place at 805 Laguna Canyon Road, near the festival grounds from 8 pm to 10:30 pm and is open to the public. To RSVP or donate to the silent auction, contact email@example.com.
