Class will take place in one of our studios on the Sawdust Art Festival grounds. Some classes may take place off-site. The class description will indicate any alternative locations.
Sawdust Art Festival is located in Laguna Beach, CA approximately one mile from Main Beach. This is about a 15-minute walk from the beach or a 5-minute drive.

If you are taking a class from January – June or September-October during the off-season (when our Festival is not running), you do not need to buy a ticket to get in. Please wait at the main red gate for a member of staff to escort you to your class.
If you are taking a class during our Summer (July-August) or Winter (November-December) Festivals, please go to the main red gate and notify a member of staff you’re here for a paid Sawdust Art Class and show them the confirmation email you received via email.
Absolutely no experience is necessary unless specified in the class description.
Yes, all materials are included with the cost of a class. With regard to ceramics and glass, there may be a small, additional charge if you wish to have your fired pottery or glass piece shipped to your home address.
Sometimes art can be messy, so please dress accordingly!

If you cancel more than 7 days before the class date, you’ll be eligible for a full refund.
If you cancel less than 7 days before the class date, you’ll be able to reschedule OR keep the credits to apply to another class. Restrictions may apply.
If the artists cancels the class, you’ll be eligible for a full refund.

Classes are first come, first served. They cannot be pre-booked. All classes are subject to availability.
For Ceramics: you must sign-up for a time slot at the studio, same-day reservations only.
For paid classes: you must sign-up and pay at the Sales Booth.
Almost all of our festival classes are free. If there is a small fee associated with the class (to cover the cost of materials), that will be clearly stated next to the class name. Any class with a fee may be paid for in the Sales Shop near the entrance.
**You CANNOT use paint on your pottery if you intend to get the pottery fired.
* You are responsible for taking your pieces to get fired. *
We will hold onto your pottery piece for 3 festival days. It will be kept in the Ceramic Center on a plate with your name and the date you threw the pot. After 3 days, the piece will be reclaimed and recycled.
Absolutely no experience is necessary, but there are age restrictions!
Studio One is generally for ages 7+, but many classes have higher age restrictions.
The Ceramic Center is for ages 3+.
Art Spot is for all ages.
