Private Group Classes

As a nonprofit, our goal is to educate the public in the arts. In 2010, we started our Art Education program. This art experience provides classes to the public year-round and offers professional artists the opportunity to teach their craft in a hands-on environment. With so many mediums to choose from, there’s something for everyone.

When having a private event with the Sawdust, it can be a teambuilding event, a celebration with your loved ones, or just because. We offer private and customized art classes to meet the needs of your group. Private events can be held on our beautiful festival grounds in Laguna Beach. We are also happy to come to your office, community space, hotel, or home!

Sample Classes

Paint & Sip $50-200

2-hour guided painting session with a professional artist
Step-by-step instruction (no experience needed)
All art supplies provided (canvas, paints, brushes)
Customizable theme (company logo, team vision, abstract art, etc.)

Clay & Sculpt $50-200

2-hour guided session with a professional instructor
Hand-building techniques (pinch pots or coiling)
Option to try the pottery wheel (availability varies)
All materials included (clay, tools, aprons)
Choice of functional pottery (cups, bowls, plates) or decorative pieces
Glaze selection

Blaze & Fire $100-300

2-hour guided session with a professional glass artist
Hands-on experience shaping and blowing molten glass
Choice of making a glass ornament, doorknob, or paperweight
Custom color selection for each piece

Create & Curate is available during our Summer Festival.
Choose from one of our select professional artists who will guide you through a 1-hour class in their medium.
Guided journey through the festival grounds, engaging with artists, exploring diverse art forms, and gaining deeper insights into creative processes.
This offering is best for groups sized 10-20 people.

Prices are per person.
- Prices can vary by medium and group size.
- Certain mediums have a maximum number of students due to studio space or materials. For very large groups, we recommend 2-3 activities.
Ceramics, Glassblowing, and Fused Glass require a secondary firing stage done off-site. Pieces will be available for pick-up or shipping after the event.
Available for Glassblowing or Ceramics.

With the exception of glassblowing, ceramics on the pottery wheel, and Create & Curate, all classes can be accommodated off-site.
