Artist Bio
I grew up in Seattle. I learned to throw pottery at age 19 and during the hippie years, I made planters, dishes, teapots, etc, selling at workshops & local fairs. Needing a more reliable income, I went to dental school and practiced general dentistry for 35 years. In 2008 I switched to glass Flamework on a torch because Glass is Magic! After many workshops at Pilchuck and Corning, I learned to use borosilicate (like Pyrex) tubing & rod, colored and clear, and to use heat from torch, gravity, and my breath to make functional and decorative glass objects. I use my ceramic kiln to glaze tile for mosaic tables and mirrors. I also like to draw, paint, and play accordion
