Dr. Neon is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans neon art, metal sculpture, blacksmithing, knife making, and fantasy jewelry. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, he attended Kenwood Academy, where he made history as the only student to ever win the prestigious Grand Prize Award two years in a row — outshining even the top technical schools. He later earned a degree in Fine and Applied Arts from Southern Illinois University, setting the foundation for a lifetime of creative exploration.

With a career marked by bold invention and master craftsmanship, Dr. Neon has produced custom artwork for major brands including Disney, Mobil Oil, Snap-on Tools, Pinnacle Micro, and Gucci. His signature blend of fire, metal, and electric light has been exhibited in galleries around the world, captivating audiences with its mythic energy and futuristic edge.

Since 1979, Dr. Neon has been an artist in residence at the renowned Sawdust Festival in Laguna Beach, California — a creative sanctuary where he works alongside fellow artists in the heart of the canyon. Though his journey began on the ren fair circuit, he found his true home in Laguna’s vibrant artist community, where he continues to forge work that’s as powerful and luminous as the elements themselves.
