Artist Bio:

Gaylen Solomon Corbett is an established fine artist, graphic designer, sign painter, teacher and author.  Her work is often experimental in nature, using a variety of media including ink, watercolor, pen and ink. Instead of limiting herself to a particular subject or media, each year she has embarked on a new area of study. Her favorite subjects range from land and seascapes to cityscapes and interiors. In recent years, a large portion of her work has focused on geometric design and architecture. Travel and painting outdoors are as important to her as time spent in the studio. In 2019, she authored a biography of her father titled "David Solomon: 50 Years an Artist" which is now in its 3rd edition. Her childhood spent growing up in his art studio amongst the Laguna Beach art community continues to influence her artwork and provide a wellspring of inspiration.

Artist Statement:

Exhibiting my work at the Sawdust Festival has been a lifelong dream. I look forward to being a part of this special community. Sawdust artists always provide me with so much inspiration and joy. My artwork this year focuses on the intrinsic truths of sacred geometry. Through this work I hope to communicate the beauty and harmony that is found in architecture of the Universe. I will also be showing a selection of hand-painted signs. This historic art form, made my human hands, is one that I hold dear and wish to preserve, in spite of the digital age.
