Artist Statement
I have been designing and creating jewelry for over 20 years. I personally handcraft each piece with care and pride, working primarily with high-quality materials: sterling silver, 14K gold-filled, and genuine natural gemstones. My aesthetic is mostly minimalist, though each year I enjoy creating a few more elaborate, one-of-a-kind pieces. I love creating feminine, everyday pieces that are both unique and timeless—pieces that become a customer’s go-to favorite.
Artist Bio
My name is Hodel McRae, and my journey as a jewelry artist began in high school while working at a bead shop. Throughout college and early adulthood, jewelry design became my creative outlet. Even while pursuing a traditional career, I spent nights and weekends honing my skills in metalsmithing and other art classes. Over time, I began exhibiting my work at local art shows and quickly realized this was my true path.
Today, I create and exhibit my designs in the town I grew up in and now call home: Laguna Beach, California.
