Artist Statement

Viewing my paintings puts you inside a moment to experience the interpretation of emotion I feel when I create a painting: a spiritual connection occurs between us and the natural world.

My impressionistic oil paintings, particularly plein air seascapes, inspire me to paint and share them with others. Laguna Beach is the perfect venue to explore and create my first passion: a universal connection.

I have recently enjoyed creating acrylic abstract paintings and the limitless possibilities this medium offers.

Artist Bio

I feel a deep and inspirational spiritual connection with these dazzling beaches and turquoise waters. Laguna Beach is my home where I paint the power and movement of the sea. And at the end of the day, sunsets show their magical powers as the sun drops into the ocean, leaving a breathtaking palette.

My painting career began in 2015 in Laguna Beach as an art student of John Eagle. The doors of the art world opened and I spent 4 years studying with the Art Students League of New York and locally with Michael Jacques. This total art immersion helped me to create an Impressionistic style and my love for bold, vibrant colors that give a sense of drama and movement to my oil paintings. I use a similar technique while painting acrylic abstract designs. Abstracts enable a sense of unique freedom of color, space, form, shape and emotion in my art process, originating from my inner being.

My fascination with the ocean and its contents began as a little girl living in Olympia, Washington, spending time at Hood Canal and the Washington beaches. I felt completely carefree at the seashore. Life gave me the opportunity for extensive global travel where I witnessed art, diversity, color and culture in museums. Traveling gave me a profound sense of connection with the earth’s natural beauty and all living things. My intention is to capture and integrate all these impressions and experiences onto my canvas.
