Under the guidance of mentor Greg Atwood at The Glass Spectrum, Kyle developed an approach rooted in the craftsmanship and traditions of leaded stained glass while exploring new possibilities within the medium. His work draws inspiration from nature and animals, traditional architectural stained glass, and the bold, timeless aesthetics of American traditional tattoos.
Artist Statement:
My work is driven by a deep respect for the time-honored tradition of leaded stained glass. What began as an exploration of glass as a medium evolved into a profound appreciation for the craftsmanship and timeless beauty of the art form. I am drawn to glass for its strength, fragility, and for its unique ability to capture and transform light.
Through my work, I hope to share the beauty and timelessness of stained glass while sparking renewed interest in the medium. Often viewed as an old-world art form, stained glass still has so much to offer. I want to show that it can be relevant, bold, and deeply personal. My goal is to honor the roots of the craft while exploring new perspectives and possibilities, helping keep the tradition alive.
