Artist Statement
I just kept doodling and making art out of anything I could get my hands on. I was always getting in trouble in school and church as a kid for drawing on everything, it was an impulse I couldn’t ignore. My art is my meditation, and I’ve put years of thought into everything I create. This is my journey of recognizing the yin and yang, a tragically beautiful balance, and visualizing it with pastel colored paint and sparkly glass.
Artist Bio
Olivia (Liv) Selley is a contemporary painter and glass blower. Born and raised in Orange County, California, her work captures the beauty of our coast and the simple pleasures of life. She’s been creating for as long as she can remember, with favorite mediums being watercolor and oil paints. Over the last few years she has delved into the infatuating world of glass. Nature is her constant inspiration, with most of her work revolving around the flora and fauna in her life and travels. Tropical and dreamy elements are seen in a lot of paintings and glass pieces. 2025 will be her third year exhibiting at the Sawdust Festival. She’s also exhibited pieces at Laguna Beach City Hall, South Coast Plaza, Glass Vegas and in Bangkok.
