“As a contemporary artist, I explore the interplay between light, color, and texture to push the boundaries of traditional glassmaking.”
Artist Bio
Sian Poeschl is a fused glass artist based in Laguna Beach, California. Her work is inspired by both the natural world and the built environment, exploring how glass can reflect the contrast and harmony between the straight lines of infrastructure and organic shapes in the landscape. With over two decades of experience, she continues to experiment with new techniques, textures, and forms—most recently through glass weaving, creating a sense of movement and depth. Poeschl’s work often plays with the balance between delicacy and strength, using that tension to explore themes of change, resilience, and connection. Her evolving practice is driven by curiosity, creativity, and a deep love of the diversity of expression in our world. Poeschl’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts, Post Graduate Degree in Education and a Master of Fine Arts. Poeschl has won awards for her artwork and been acknowledged for her contributions to the community by the Laguna Beach Alliance for the Arts. In addition early in her career being awarded an International Scholarship by Rotary Club International to undertake what has been a lifelong learning in the Arts.
