Artist Statement
My work is rooted in a deep love for Southern California — its coastal light, beach culture, and the memories shaped along its coastline. Inspired by music and a sense of nostalgia, I paint from emotional memory rather than direct observation.
Working in oil and acrylic, I move between abstraction, expressionism, and contemporary landscape. My process is intuitive and rhythmic, guided by gesture, tempo, and movement as layered washes, saturated color, and raw surface emerge.
Rather than depicting specific places, I seek to evoke the feeling of being there — warmth, atmosphere, and the quiet pull of memory — inviting emotional presence within art.
